Emergencies: If you are experiencing a life-threatening
emergency, dial 911 immediately. If you've witnessed an actual crime, meaning
you've seen more than just suspicious behavior, contact the authorities first and
then come back to Ruby WATCH to submit your report. Never put yourself or
others in harm's way to get a "closer look" or more details for your report.
It's best just to report what you've observed and allow law enforcement to do their job.
RubyWATCH Uses: Concerned citizens use RubyWATCH to submit electronic
tips regarding suspicious activities and behaviors they observe that may be related
to terrorist or criminal activities. Law enforcement agents and security practitioners
use information from tips entered into RubyWATCH
to investigate terrorists and criminals
and for other uses permitted by local,
state and Federal law. Officials may
also use RubyWATCH internally within their department. For example, Border
Patrol may use RubyWATCH to track license plates for suspicious vehicles that cross
the border into the U.S. or detectives in a high crime area or area with gang activity may use RubyWATCH to track tagging sightings. These are just a few ways in
which RubyWATCH may be leveraged to help improve public safety in the community,
save lives and protect property. For more information on how RubyWATCH is
used in your neighborhood, contact your local law enforcement agency.
Tip Accuracy: It is important you enter information that's accurate
to the best of your ability. Once submitted you will not be able to view or
edit your report.
Your Privacy: Be sure to read and understand HSFA's
Privacy Policy. Your information will
NOT automatically be recorded in the database. If you would like law enforcement
to follow up with you regarding your report, you must agree to forward your email
and/or other contact data.
